Pray, Fast, & Donate

On January 12th, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti about 10 miles south of its capital Port-au-Prince. The destruction there is unimaginable. Many homes, schools, and medical facilities collapsed and with the numerous aftershocks, it is unsafe for anyone to stay indoors. Thousands are currently homeless and injured and are struggling to survive as food, water, and medical supplies are low. Rescue efforts continue, although the chance of finding survivors every day are diminishing.

However, there is so much hope. Aid agencies from all over the world and within the country teamed up to help and care for survivors by treating the injured, setting up temporary shelters, and delivering food and water.

What can we do to help? Even though we cannot be there in person, we can be there in spirit with the survivors by praying, fasting, and donating. Join us in Pacific Fast for Haiti from now until February 12th. Choose one day, fast 1 to 3 meals, and donate a suggested amount of $5 per meal. An $8 donation can provide enough food to one Haitian for 5 days. All proceeds will go to Catholic Relief Services.

It does not matter what your faith or background is - we just want everyone to come together as one campus to help the Haitian people in need.
